Bearded Dragons are popular exotic pets, most commonly Pogona vitticeps, the Inland or Central Bearded Dragon. They are a popular species among children, because of their friendly and calm nature, along with the relative ease of caring for them. Most Bearded Dragons in captivity have broad triangular heads and flattened bodies, with adults reaching approximately 16 to 22 inches (410 to 560 mm) from head to tail and weighing 350 to 600 grams (10 to 20 oz). We bought our leopard gecko from Buckles and we are thrilled with our "Velvet." We learned so much from the staff before we bought her. Because we had never owned a reptile before, our entire family had so many questions. We found the staff to be quite knowledgeable about reptiles in general. Based on our needs and the age of our children, they recommended a gecko, even thought we thought a bearded dragon might be a good fit for our family. Buckles was right -- Velvet was absolutely the right choice for our family -- and we love her :)
